How can we steer Arctic biodiversity towards a positive future? Researchers and representatives from indigenous groups, business and politics addressed this question during the World Biodiversity Forum 2024.
Reports on the state of biodiversity in the Arctic are characterised by dramatic images: polar bears in distress on ice floes, thawing permafrost and reindeer unable to find food. Such images convey hopelessness. To counteract this, participants of the World Biodiversity Forum 2024 have developed positive images of the future, which can now be seen in the Science Pavilion UZH. The exhibition is open daily from 12 - 5 pm.
